Bureau of Plant Industry
The Bureau of Plant Industry provides services to maintain and
protect Pennsylvania agriculture through consumer protection and product
regulation. This includes detection, identification and control of
destructive plant pests (diseases, insects and weeds, both native and
exotic).
In addition, the bureau promotes farm safety, worker protection, surface and
groundwater protection, endangered species and the integrated pest management program.
The bureau also administers laws and regulations relating to the distribution and sale of seed, feed,
fertilizer, pesticides, and liming materials.
